No one wants to take the ‘treat’ out of trick-or-treating, but Halloween treats can increase the risk of cavities. This year, Fraser Health is encouraging families to plan ahead to help scare away tooth decay.

Last Thursday our Grade 5 students were all invited to a PJ movie night held in the gym! Students were encouraged to wear their pajamas or comfy clothes, pizza and popcorn were available to purchase and Lilo and Stitch played on the big screen!

Thank you to the PAC, staff, and parent volunteers. 

Hopefully this will be first of many movie nights this year! 

So proud of our Sandy Hill Suns teams for racing at the Bateman parks over the last few weeks. The race is about 1 km but many kids sprint the entire way which is extremely difficult! Cross country runners will have an automatic invite to compete in the 800m race this spring at our track meet. Thank you for your commitment to running and for helping lead the Terry Fox run! Thank you parents for supporting your student-athletes in this. Thank you Madame King for helping coach these teams.

The Abbotsford Board of Education is pleased to welcome Arsh Kaler as its newest member, following his official swearing-in at the public Board meeting held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.

“We are delighted to welcome Trustee Kaler to the Board,” said Board Chair Shirley Wilson. “His enthusiasm, community-minded approach, and deep commitment to public education will be tremendous assets as we work together to support students, staff, and families across our district.”

Halloween is just around the corner, and our schools are buzzing with excitement as students prepare to show off their creativity and enjoy some festive fun together. As we get ready to celebrate, it’s important that our events and costume choices reflect the values we share as a community: kindness, inclusion, and respect. 

Our annual Turkey Trot is back! Students ran laps with the turkey to collect thankful feathers to go on their classroom turkey.

Keep your children free from respiratory illnesses this winter 

As the weather gets colder and we spend more time indoors, we’re more likely to get sick with things like colds, flu or COVID-19 because these illnesses spread more easily in enclosed spaces.

You did it! Sandy Hill community we are so proud to say we have CRUSHED our goal! We have raised $2141.50. Thank you so much for your contributions. Thank you for remembering Terry; thank you for showing resilience and determination by running so hard today.

We had a beautiful day up at the Auguston fields playing soccer with our grade 5’s. Between our two teams we played six games; we were challenged, we made some great plays, we got lots of exercise and had a blast!
