More Skittleball!

Team 1 had their last game on Tuesday! The learning curve, especially regarding defensive concepts, was steep this season. Congratulations to all skittle ball players.

Team 2 played victoriously last week. They have one more game next week, and then basketball sign ups starts but information, games, and online permission will come until after the break.

How French Immersion Schools Celebrating Winter with French Canadian Flair

Every winter, Abbotsford School District French Immersion schools come together to celebrate a beloved tradition that brings warmth, excitement, and cultural appreciation to the chilly months. Inspired by Quebec City’s famous Carnaval de Québec, we have made it a tradition to embrace French Canadian heritage through food, music, and outdoor festivities—giving students a chance to create lasting memories year after year.

Carnaval Pancake Breakfast & Visit from Bonne Homme de Neige

We rounded out our Carnaval celebration week with a pancake breakfast for all staff and students! 1000 pancakes were served in less than 45 minutes. The pancakes were enjoyed in the gym while listening to French Canadian music. Thank you to all our lovely volunteers, these events could not happen without you!

Bonne homme de neige carnaval even made an appearance and gifted all students with a maple candy!

Skittleball - Team 1 at McMillan

This is the look of a victorious team. Team 1 played their first game at Prince Charles and had adjustments to make with the floor, the lighting, and even the bounce to the ball used. They didn’t complain and did the best they were capable of which was very noble of them. This week though, they were able to verse McMillan in their home gym and felt much more confident. We don’t keep score for these elementary games but their confidence was reflected in their play. Great sportsmanship all around!

One School, One Book : A Journey to the Very, Very, Far North

We are very excited about our One School, One Book project, where our entire school community will embark on a shared reading adventure! We have chosen the delightful book The Very, Very Far North by Canadian author Dan Bar-el. Inquiry bins were created for the teachers to bring into the classroom for the students to explore and discuss what the book may be about. This charming story will be read aloud in classrooms, fostering a love for reading and a sense of unity among our students.
