Basketball!

Grade 5 girls and boys basketball teams began practicing in January. Between the steep learning curve and the finesse of some of the club players our teams looked confident and seems like everyone had a blast!

Art with Robert Bateman Students

What a fun time we had visiting new friends at Sandy Hill Elementary today! Our Art 11/12 class is doing a collaborative project with Mrs Roberts’ Grade ones and today was our first get together. Bigs and littles were all a bit nervous, but within minutes there were giggles and smiles and everyone was working together, being creative and having fun. When it was time to go, there were high fives and even some hugs as little arms wrapped around tall legs! It was adorable!

Accessible Playground Update

Change of plans!

Our original goal was to fundraise the entirety of the project ($82k) and have the Accessible Buddy Bus and musical instruments installed at the same time.

We have decided to split the project into two phases in order to complete the more important / impactful part of the project sooner.

Reading Link Challenge

About four months ago Mrs. Erickson started with about 90 eager students who wanted to participate in the Reading Link Challenge.

This fine group of students were the school challenge winners and represented Sandy Hill in the Library Challenge held at Clearbrook Elementary recently. Even with their diligent studying, unfortunately they were not victorious and will not be moving onto the other challenges.

We thank all participants and hope everyone had a good time reading the books.
