These students have been reading and studying the 6 reading link challenge books since before Christmas!

One team from each grade 5 class was formed, Division 1 - The Imposters, Division 2 – Rapid Reading Reptiles, and Division 14 – Literacy Legends. The School Challenge was completed online with the Fraser Valley Regional Library on Friday. There were 3 rounds with 10 questions in each round on the various books.

Enhanced safety measures and $121.2 million in federal funding are on the way, as the Province continues to strengthen health and safety plans in K-12 schools to keep students, teachers and staff safe during the pandemic.

All middle and secondary students and K-12 staff will now be required to wear non-medical masks in all indoor areas, including when they are with their learning groups. The only exceptions are when:

Jungle Gym 2021 looks a little different then other years. We are doing our motorcycle landings, gymnastics, and ninja warrior course training in our own bubbles and students help with regular wiping of mats throughout the day. This year the last block on Friday actually helped me set and they were fantastic! I will never going back to setting it up alone. Special thanks to M. Shanks class for all your help!

OR GRADE 5 STUDENTS ONLY: Abbotsford School District has partnered with the Human Early Learning Partnership (HELP) at the University of British Columbia to measure and promote children’s social and emotional development, health, well-being, and assets through the Middle Year Development Instrument (MDI). The Middle Years Development Instrument (MDI) is a self-report questionnaire that asks children in middle childhood about their thoughts, feelings and experiences.
