Don’t skip your influenza (flu) shot this year: Fraser Health is reminding everyone that immunization makes a difference. The vaccine shields against several strains of flu and helps lessen the impact of emerging variants, like H3N2.

Elves have been hard at work setting up the first Sun's Secret Holiday Gift Shoppe and it's ready for students to start shopping tomorrow! There are still open spaces to volunteer to help the students shop and wrap their chosen gifts so if you have a free hour or two in the next couple of days please reach out to the PAC at sandyhillpac@gmail.com

Thank you to everyone in the community for donating the items for the shop and to the special elves for organizing the setting up the Shoppe. 

On Friday mornings, parents of division 7 and 11 are invited into the classroom to share a special reading time with students. This simple, joyful experience helps strengthen the home–school connection while fostering a love of books and learning.

The grade 5 hoodies have arrived and they look fantastic! Thank you to the PAC and the volunteer coordinator.

Keep your child healthy during winter

As the chilly winter season approaches, there are things you can do to help keep your children healthy and well.  

Get ready for winter at home and in the community

Grade 4 and 5’s in Divisions 1 and 2 thoroughly enjoyed their skating experience at ARC on Thursday November 20th.  Students had fun playing hockey, chasing their friends, and scooting around on seals!  Even Mrs. Fetterly, Mrs. Bonk, and Mrs. Phillips got into the fun!

Thank you to all the volunteers who accompanied us and helped lace up skates and encouraged kids  – you were amazing! 

After two hours of skating, the kids even got to enjoy a well-deserved treat back at the school. What a great day!

The jungle gym is up! You may have heard your kids chatting about it. We are starting with traditional gymnastics and making sure we jump, land, and roll well. All students have been challenged to get inverted while hanging on equipment. Some of them are showing their gymnastics skills that they have practiced in club/community gymnastics lessons. Next week the older students will participate in "Ninja School" which is based on parkour. The challenge is to apply the jumping and landing skills to the playground so students avoid injury at play.
