Scholastic Bookfair Results!

Our Scholastic Bookfair last week was fantastic! Students shopped for books, posters, and other treasures in our multipurpose room. The winner of the family draw was Kacie from Division 4 who won a $25 credit for herself and also $25 for her classroom teacher.

The end result was over $4000 in book credits for the library! Wow! Thank you to all the volunteers that ran the Bookfair and also for your continued support.

Buddy Reading

The Grade 5 students in Mrs. Fetterly's class absolutely loved reading their stories to their Grade 2 and Grade 3 friends. Thank you to our buddies who were incredibly attentive and supportive to the Grade 5's.

Students Playing Skittleball

Skittleball!

Grade 5 skittle ball season was awesome but a little disappointing at the same time as some games were cancelled due to the snow days. Regardless, we practiced for two months and each student on the team was able to play in two games and many offensive and defensive strategies were learned… I hope! Grade 5 basketball will be starting soon and the game days will be March 6th and April 3rd for the boys and March 13th and April 10th for the girls.

Metis Jigging!

As part of our Carnaval week, Sandy Hill students were fortunate to have a guest presenter, Mr. Fergus, teaching an introduction to jigging to the entire school over two days. The dance is very popular among the Metis. Students had a blast and were extremely active. One class plopped down in exhaustion after completion of their first dance!
