Know when and how to access mental health support for your child

Mental illnesses are common in children and young people, they can have a significant impact on their development, relationships and their performance in school. Getting help early can prevent symptoms from becoming more severe and support a faster recovery. 

As we near the end of 2023 and the beginning of the winter break throughout BC, Rachna Singh, Minister of Education and Child Care, has released the following end-of-year letters to families and staff.

Thank you to our Sandy Hill families for your thoughtfulness and generosity towards the Christmas Neighbours program through Archway. Your generous donations allowed for our school to support two families of six, a family of three and one senior this upcoming holiday season! We were able to provide these families with their gifts as well as their holiday meals. Thank you also to our local No Frills grocery store for their generous contributions they provided to each family. We thank you all for helping our school spread kindness and empathy to those in need in our community.

Division 5 was busy learning by creating landforms. Students used clay for the base and then painted their designs.

Our hallways are lined with some wonderful festive art. It is a fantastic display of creativity and artistic talent. Thank you students for brightening up the school.

As you have probably already heard, our PAC has been working towards an accessible playground. Please click here for updated information. In addition, $431 was raised through the Christmas concert VIP parking raffle!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Thanks to this fantastic team of parents our foyer has been transformed into a winter wonderland. 

Also - our Bonhomme costume has arrived. Look for him in the New Year at Carnaval!
