Our Grade 4 and 5 Cross Country team held their first meet on Monday at Bateman Park. Well done Suns! Next meet is Monday October 6th. 

Students from Mrs. Adi's Kindergarten class, along with their buddies in Mrs. A. Hall's class, helped spread kindness and fill the buckets of all the special and hard-working adults at Sandy Hill!

In celebration of returning back to school Sandy Hill Elementary enjoyed a fun morning of games and activities. Staff and students in Grade's 1 through 5 were treated to their choice of fries or poutine and kindergarten students were given a special treat.

Hello, Abby Schools community!

We are pleased to introduce you to our new Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Nathan Ngieng. Please enjoy his welcome back message below.

The start of a new school year always brings a sense of energy and possibility. On September 2nd, more than 20,000 students will walk through the doors of our 46 schools, supported by 3,000 staff who are ready to guide, inspire, and celebrate their growth this year. The Abbotsford Board of Education is excited to see what this year will bring for our students-new learning, new friendships, and new opportunities to thrive. 

A heartfelt thank you for all your support throughout the year. Reading at home, helping with homework, volunteering for field trips, grade 5 committees and special events, purchasing hot lunch and popcorn, all contribute to the school community.

A special thank you to our PAC executives who you may see around the school volunteering but also have many behind the scene roles. 

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Pete Nuij as Assistant Superintendent, effective June 16, 2025.

With more than two decades of experience in public education, Pete brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to his new role. He has served as a teacher, school-based administrator, District Principal, Director of Instruction, and most recently, Associate Superintendent of Education Services with the Vancouver School Board.
