Reading Link Challenge

About four months ago Mrs. Erickson started with about 90 eager students who wanted to participate in the Reading Link Challenge.

This fine group of students were the school challenge winners and represented Sandy Hill in the Library Challenge held at Clearbrook Elementary recently. Even with their diligent studying, unfortunately they were not victorious and will not be moving onto the other challenges.

We thank all participants and hope everyone had a good time reading the books.

Fraser Health: Measles vaccination information for parents and guardians

With measles cases being reported internationally and spring break on the horizon, the Provincial Health Officer, BC Centre for Disease Control and Medical Health Officers across the province are reminding people in British Columbia to check their and their children’s vaccination records for the measles vaccine, especially before any international travel. Fraser Health public health units are available to offer vaccination at no cost, and will offer extra clinics before and during spring break for childhood, school-aged and adult immunizations.

Grade 5 Indigenous Drums

The grade 5 Indigenous students went to   Mamele'awt Community Indigenous Centre for their transition to middle school with Mrs.Ellis. Each student made the drum by using Sinew, cedar frames and elk or deer skin . They also made an Indigenous design on their drums that represented who they are as a person from animals or other things from nature. They all worked extremely hard on their drums and are super proud of how they turned out.
