Grade 5 Victoria "Field Trip"

The Grade 5 students couldn't experience Victoria as they normally would so their teachers created a wonderful 2 day experience that included an on site scavenger hunt, virtual tour of the Parliament Building and Royal BC Musuem and a Museum souvenir to take home, IMAX film,  online interview with a local MLA, Victoria photo booth and treats galore!

Reading Link Challenge - Round 2

The Literacy Legends who won the first round, the School Challenge on February 26th, competed against 12 other Abbotsford Elementary Schools on March 10th.  The Library Challenge, which was hosted by the Clearbook Library again consisted of 3 rounds with 10 questions in each round on the 6 various books.

Unfortunatly the Literacy Legends were not the winning team this round - The Smarties from Mountain Elementary took the win. Congratulations Mountain and to all the Reading Link Challenge participants! Well done everyone!

Highlights - Board Meeting – Mar. 9, 2021

Reading Link Challenge

These students have been reading and studying the 6 reading link challenge books since before Christmas!

One team from each grade 5 class was formed, Division 1 - The Imposters, Division 2 – Rapid Reading Reptiles, and Division 14 – Literacy Legends. The School Challenge was completed online with the Fraser Valley Regional Library on Friday. There were 3 rounds with 10 questions in each round on the various books.

Enhanced safety measures for K-12 schools

Enhanced safety measures and $121.2 million in federal funding are on the way, as the Province continues to strengthen health and safety plans in K-12 schools to keep students, teachers and staff safe during the pandemic.

All middle and secondary students and K-12 staff will now be required to wear non-medical masks in all indoor areas, including when they are with their learning groups. The only exceptions are when:
