Building Safe, Caring and Inclusive Schools

A welcoming education system for all K-12 students and their families is essential for student success. Research has shown us that when students feel a sense of safety, belonging, and acceptance, it positively impacts school attendance, feelings of attachment and connectedness, academic achievement and overall well-being.

We feel it is imperative to address the narrative surrounding sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) in our community, and we want to provide you with credible resources to support your ongoing learning.

Cross Country Meet #1

The Sandy Hill cross country team was well represented with close to sixty runners this year. The course was changed at the last minute due to a soccer game on one field but the kids accepted the challenge and did fantastic. The new course actually ended up being a little longer and we are sticking with it, meaning we will have to run a bit more at our recess practices to be prepared. Many students placed in the top twenty and all of them conquered some nerves and finished the race. Well done Sandy Hill Suns!
