FVRL Reading Link Challenge!

The winners of the School Challenge participated in the Library Challenge at the Clearbrook Library yesterday. 13 School teams from Abbotsford were battling for the win. It was a nail bitter with tie breakers required but unfortunately Sandy Hill's "Book Nerds" were not the winning team.

Thank you to all Reading Link Challenge participants!

Community Recognizes Heroes in Education

We are thrilled to announce that four Abbotsford School District "Heroes in Education" have been featured in a special publication in the Abbotsford News for their exceptional work and dedication to education.

Congratulations to the following:

Nicole Longpre - Teacher at Centennial Park Elementary
She got into assistance work about seven years ago, and now instead of a full classroom, she has a day full of various duties. She helps students with designations like autism, and supports the kids who just need a boost with reading and writing.

Bookfair Results!

Our first book fair in 3 years was hugely successful! Sales were over $7000 which resulted in the school receiving $4300 in Scholastic credits which can be use to buy books.  So exciting!

Congratulations to Gurleen! She won $25 to spend at the bookfair and $25 for her teacher Mrs. Adi.

Thank you very much to all the parent volunteers. Without your support these events could not happen.

Recess Dance Performances

Students in Grade 2 through 5 put together teams, choreographed and practiced dance routines to present to their peers during recess over the last couple of days. There were lots of laughs, ooing, ahhing, and cheering in the gym! Sandy Hill is lucky to have such a talented group of students!
